Kingfisher Trail - Viewpoint  C

Small Pond
This is a very special place. This small pool, which almost dries out in dry weather, supports a rich variety of plants. Water Plantain and Water Mint are common. Water Cress is also found here. Two of our rarest plants are also found nearby. Two plants of Twayblade and one plant of Southern Marsh Orchid have been recorded. A few yards away a pair of Swans made their nest in April and several Cygnets hatched in June.
