Vauxhall Lakes Reeds, Sedges and other marginal plants are slowly building up soil around their roots. This process goes on year on year and if we allow it the lakes would soon be silted up and eventually revert to woodland which is the natural vegetation of this part of the world. This process is called succession. Nearby is our only Walnut Tree. | |
