Canterbury Environmental Education Centre has operated out of a collection of 'mobile' classrooms since October 1973. It is a public/private partnership between National Grid Transco and Kent County Council. KCC manage the education delivered on-site through its team of teachers, reserve workers, conservationists and administrators. 2003/4 saw visitor numbers rise by 18% (to 8,500) when compared to 2002/3. This upward trend is expected continue once the new purpose-built "Broad Oak Centre" is completed by the end of 2004.
