What is there to do?

  • Follow the lakeside Kingfisher Trail through beautiful natural habitats.
  • Try your hand at pond dipping and find out what lives in our lake.
  • Visit the ‘Friends of CEEC' bird-hide on Teddy Bears' Island and see if you can spot a Heron or Kingfisher!
  • Play hide and seek in Canterbury Woods.
  • Enjoy a picnic by the lake or a cup of fair-trade tea and an organic snack in our Visitor Centre.
  • Relax in our Sensory Garden.
  • Meet the world famous Sebastian Swan! (www.sebastianswan.org.uk)
  • Allow at least 1-2 hours for your visit, including a stop at our Visitor Centre for refreshments, information and souvenirs.
  • Younger visitors can have more fun at CEEC with our Hedgehog trail and brass rubbings activities - ask at the Visitor Centre on arrival to find out more!
  • Free parking on site


How do I get there?

On site parking is free, although we do encorage use of public transport. The nearest train station is Canterbury West and the nearest bus stop is at Farleigh Road/Broad Oak Rd on buses 24 or 21 from Canterbury bus station. Alternatively we are only a 20 minute walk from the city centre!
