Small Marsh
The raucous sound of jays and the yuffling call of the green woodpecker are common sounds along the reeds on this part of the trail. We have a family of foxes living here, you can look for signs such as droppings, footprints in soft earth and food remains. There are also young oak trees along this part of the trail, they provide an important habitat for many animals.

Oak Trees

There are many associations between oak trees and plants and animals. The oak tree is a particularly rich habitat for wildlife. Parasitic wasps lay their eggs in leaves, twigs and buds causing galls such as the spangle gall and oak apple. These act as a home and food supply for the larvae.
